Back on the ranch: Fair
Oaks Ranch Golf & Country Club is hosting the Genesis Shootout presented by
the Valero Texas Open for the third year in a row. Established in 1978, Fair
Oaks Ranch Golf & Country Club sits on the site of a former 14,000-acre ranch, owned by
Ralph E. Fair Sr. The clubhouse, formerly Mr. Fair’s ranch home, was built in
the 1930s and is one of the most unique clubhouses the AJGA visits on a regular
basis.

Following big
footsteps:
The AJGA has held an event in the San Antonio area since 1992,
and former champions of those events have gone on to make their mark on the
game of golf. The champions
in 2013 will follow in the footsteps of players like
Tiger Woods, Jimmy Walker, Morgan Pressel, Brittany Lang, and Jennifer Johnson.

Break out the record
book:
Wes Artac of Kingwood, Texas, etched his name in the record books of
the Fair Oaks Ranch Golf & Country Club on Wednesday. Artac used 12
birdies, including a string of eight in a row, to set a new course record on
the Live Oaks Course.

Artac seals the deal: One day after setting the course record with a 10-under-par 62, Artac fired a 2-under-par 70 to collect his first AJGA victory by five strokes.

No. 13 green (4)

No. 13 on the Live Oaks Course is a short par-4, which provides a challenging approach shot for players.
