25th Anniversary

In less than 16 hours, the first four-ball match will tee it up for the 2014 Wyndham Cup. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Cup, making the event even more special. Over the years, many notable players have represented the East and West as the list of alumni include players such as Tiger Woods, Webb Simpson, Rickie Fowler, Inbee Park and Paula Creamer. Check out this photo album highlighting the top 25 moments of Wyndham Cup history.

In honor of the 25th anniversary, four players from the 1990 Wyndham Cup are visiting Old Sandwich Golf Club. Heather Bowie Young and Stephanie Neill Harner represented the East 25 years ago, while Lisa Cornwell and Kellee Booth played for the West.

2014 Team East

The East’s (9-13-2) line-up consists of 10 returning players and 10 Wyndham Cup rookies. The roster features recent top finishers, including No. 2-ranked and 2014 Thunderbird International Junior champion Andy Zhang. Learn more about Team East here.

2014 Team West

The West (13-9-2) will look to defend the Cup after winning at The Bridges at Rancho Santa Fe in 2013. Nine players have previously competed in the Wyndham Cup, while 11 are making their debuts this week. Headlining the team is No. 1-ranked Andrea Lee, who comes off back-to-back victories at the Rolex Tournament of Champions and Yani Tseng Invitational presented by the Swinging Skirts. The Captains

Team East will be led by Captain Mark Oskarson and Assistant Captain Katie Tahara, while Captain Jason Miller and Assistant Captain Blair Thompson will represent the West. Find out what they are most excited about going into their week, their weird superstitions and who would beat who in a Ping Pong match. Also, Captain Miller prefers the old school high five, while Captain Oskarson will go with the fist bump – we look forward to seeing plenty of both this week! Meet the Captains here.
