Lone Tree Golf Club is named for a single tree that use to sit near No. 9's teeing ground. Planted in 1899, it was the only tree standing on the land where the course was built. Sadly the tree has since died, but it's trunk remains where it was planted more than a century ago.

Chris Korte of Highland Ranch, Colo., shot an amazing final round at the AJGA Junior at Lone Tree, posting 9-under-par 62 and breaking the junior course record by one stroke. The record of 8-under-par 63 was previously held by Richard T. Lee, a current professional on the Asian Tour.

“My thought going into the day was just to be confident and calm,” Korte said. “I had a great run in the middle and I chipped in on No. 6 for an eagle, and then the excitement set it. The last few holes were all mental and it was tough to keep it together, but this my best round ever by far. It’s unbelievable.”
