30th
Anniversary-
2013 marks the 30th anniversary of the Natural
Resource Partners Bluegrass Junior. NRP has been the title sponsor for the past
10 years. This tournament is one of the longest running events on the AJGA
schedule.  Bellefonte Country Club in
Ashland, Ky., serves as the host once again this week. The NRP event means so
much to this community, and the volunteer support is always admirable in
Ashland.  A lot can change in 30 years,
but one thing the people of Ashland can always count on is a golf tournament in
June.

New Angle- 11
AJGA interns and four full time staff members are in Ashland working this
event. Two of the interns are very familiar with this tournament. Michael Hicks
of Newnan, Ga., and Ryan Flanagan of Somerset, Ky. played in this event as
juniors, and now their back to work the event. Hicks finished T14 in 2006, and
Flanagan played in the qualifier in 2009. The duo got to see the tournament
from the side of the player, now they get to see all the logistics that go into
running such a big event.
