Fans of the AJGA have been reading press releases, newspaper articles and website pages to keep up with their favorite junior golfers. Now, however, there is a whole new way to follow the action.
On Monday, July 12, Kidstar Radio Network came out to Robinson Ranch to give its first live broadcast of an AJGA event at the Aldila Junior All-Star.
Throughout the day, the broadcasters from Kidstar interviewed Tournament Director Casey Ceman, Assistant Tournament Director Courtney Jones and even a member of Stanford University’s golf team and AJGA alum, Sydney Burlison.
Kidstar is a radio station in which kids get to do the broadcasting. Along with the AJGA, Kidstar has broadcasted events with the WNBA and Major League Baseball.
“Kidstar is about turning the kids’ interests into radio shows,” said CEO and founder of Kidstar Perry Damone. “It’s a way for the kids to take their interests to the next level.”
Damone is very excited about Kidstar’s involvement with the AJGA.
“If a parent cannot attend an event, they can just get on their computer and keep up with the tournament through our broadcasts.” Damone went on to say that Kidstar has listeners around the world that will now have the opportunity to listen to AJGA events.
For this first week in Santa Clarita, Kidstar used the practice round as a practice run for its broadcasters. In two weeks, Kidstar will broadcast final round coverage from the TEE UP Junior Challenge presented by Kamen Rider Dragon Knight Cup in Beaumont, Calif. Keep a look out for more Kidstar involvement as the summer continues.
